OCTOBER 2010 MEETING PHOTOS

The IPMS San Diego met on October 29 at the Veterans Memorial Center & Museum in San Diego. Members brought an substantial number of models, either for show 'n tell or to enter in our Quarterly Contest.

Secretary Joel Hendricks makes his monthly report. Treasurer Gary Williams gives his financial report.
Guest speaker Candice Hooper brings the latest news about the Naval Aviation Centennial Celebration and the involvement of the Coronado Library. Daniel Covey reminds everyone of the upcoming Winterfest Model Show at the Veteran Museum on December 18. Daniel inspect the models that have been entered in the Quarterly Contest.
Jerry Jackson brought one last time his Japanese Imperial Navy Battleship Fuso which collected top awards at the OrangeCon earlier in the month. In preparation for the Naval Aviation Centennial, and the IPMS contribution to the Coronada Library, Gary has been busy building 1/32nd scale aircraft, showing here his Curtiss OC-1 with Marines markings.

...and his work-in-progress, highly detailed Trumpeter FA-18E.
Another Boeing OC-1 was brought by Rex McCoy
Dany Galgani brought his Academy 1/32nd scale FA-18-D, built as a FA-18-B.
Dave Weeks brought his Eduard's ProfiPACK 1/48th scale Bell X1, beautifully finished in its orange livery.
Dave's X1 was not the only X1 at the meeting, as President Tony Bunch had brought his own...
... a 1/18th scale model from Pegasus Hobbies in its early stage of completion. Tony had also brought his Tamiya 1/700th scale BB-61 USS Iowa, another work-in-progress model. Vive-President Mike O'Leary, trying to sell belt buckles...
Mike also brought a still-in-the-box Special Hobby 1/32nd scale Mitsubishi A5M2b Claude "Over China", an impressive model loaded with detail.
Jerry Jackson brought a work-in-progress Dragon's 1/35th scale E100 German tank that he's building for a client.
Richard Abraham is getting into ships, a currently increasing trend amongst modelers.
Turning into ships too, Ethan Idenmill brought his work-in-progress ESCI 1/1200th scale USS Yorktown.
The paint scheme on Ethan's Yorktown is well under way.
David Nielsen explains how the building of his USS Gearing is coming along.
Mike Potter brought some literature that can be very useful for ship builders like him.
New comer Colin Hodges is a Sci-Fi enthusiast.
