- The Sixth Annual San Diego IPMS Model Expo was held on June 4, in conjunction with the San Diego Air & Space Museum’s Model Swap meet. As in the past, the event was held at the Museum’s Annex at Gillespie Field.
- 74 modelers brought 320 models to this year’s contest. Thirty six vendors displayed 56 tables of all types of plastic and other related items for those looking for modeling bargains. Tamiya had an extra table on which they displayed their up-coming kits.
