It was also the Annual Auction night, with a record
number of items (over one hundred) brought by
members to be auctioned off.

As usual, the auction was conducted by Secretary
Joel Hendricks, with Ethan and John Humphrey
taking care of recording and collecting the
proceeds in the absence of Treasurer Gary Williams.

President Rex McCoy made a quick opening to the meeting as the kit auction promised to be lengthy.

Secretary Joel Hendricks presented Rex with the IPMS Region 8 2012 Chapter of the Year award, in acknowledgement of our Club's Model Expo popularity.

Show 'n Tell

Mark Knowlton brought his completed D341 Val Dive Bomber, a 1/48 scale model from Revell Germany.

Mark added a Czech Model (KMC) cockpit interior and he pre-shaded the panel lines for weathering effect. Mark says that the decals were thick but settled down nicely with liberal amounts of setting solution.

Scott Langille has used LEDs to simulate the IR
lights in this otherwise straight from the box 1/35
scale T-90 A, a kit made by Meng. This is Scott's
first attempt at using Vallejo paints and Silly Putty
masking.

Dan King has built this 1/35 scale Tamiya Universal Carrier almost out-of-the-box.

For his 60th birthday, Barry Rishel received a
1/350 scale HMS Belfast Trumpeter kit, along with
"Ship Models from Kits" by David Griffith and
"Anatomy of the Ship: The Battleship Dreadnought"
by John Roberts.

Dany Galgani brought a 1/48 scale Monogram
F-111 A that he's built about twenty five years
ago.

The raised panel lines were scribed, the cockpit,
electronic bays, radar and jet engines were
scratch-built, along with the interior details of
the flaps and slats.

Dany plans to repair - as time allows - a few
things that have broken over time.

Our thanks to all who participated!
