NOVEMBER 2012 MEETING REPORT

The IPMS San Diego met on November 30 at the Girl Scout Center, located 1231 Upas St. in San Diego.

This was the evening of our Annual Kit Auction Fund Raiser which saw a record number of kits and memorabilia up for grabs - and everything went!

Although most of the auction was conducted by Secretary Joel Hendricks (above) Vice-President David Nielsen (left) was happy to take over and give the main auctioneer a break.

Models brought for Show n' Tell

The Annual Kit Auction Fund Raiser taking the whole meeting time, modelers didn't get to talk about their projects. However, enough information was left to appreciate their effort.

Richard Abraham's Yak 38, painted in Russian Navy colors, is a 1/48 scale HobbyBoss model.
Jerry Jackson is working on a 1/48 Airfix Me-109 F (above) that he had started years ago. Jerry scribed the raised panel lines, but the main challenge remains the fit of the old kit.

Jerry also brought a Horten HO-229 (right and below), a 1/72 kit from Revell of Germany that has been built out-of-the-box.

David Nielsen has built this 1/72 scale Revell Panzer III L out-of-the-box.

Dany Galgani is working on a 1/72 Airfix Fouga Magister CM 170. Although this is a mid-70s kit, the fit appears to be very good.
Mike Potter brought his scratch-built 1/700 scale USS J. William Ditter Destroyer/Minelayer
which took first place and best of show at last month's quarterly contest.

Robert James brought 4 sci-fi figures, "Hermann" made by Dust in 1/48 scale, which represents an alternative light armor walker with a 1500 KW laser weapon...

... "Koenigs Luther", a 1/48 Dust alternative WWII walker-type tank
with 280 mm anti-armor cannons (a game piece for a game called "Dust")...

... "Ludwig, a 1/48 Dust alternative armor medium walker with two 5000 KW laser weapons,
still in construction and painting phase...
... and a 1/20 Hasegawa Grober Hund, a humanoid Kriegers droid from the Mashiner Kreig universe.

Our thanks to all who participated!
