SEPTEMBER 2011 MEETING PHOTOS

The IPMS San Diego met on September 30 at the Veterans Memorial Center & Museum in San Diego. Members brought a substantial number of models in
various stages of completion for Show 'n Tell.

The meeting started as usual with reports from Treasurer Gary Williams and Secretary Joel Hendrix. Vice President Rex McCoy made his report on the
on-going relationship with the Flying Leathernecks Museum and the up-coming model contest at the Miramar Air Show. Dan King offered a charity diner
to support the local Veterans, possibly aboard the USS Midway. Many members showed interest and support.

Famous modeler and IPMS Tidewater member Charles Landrum postponed his trip back home to honor our club with his visit. The Club acquired a new
member, John Morrison, whose interest is mainly in sail ships.

Marty Horvath opened the Show 'n Tell with his almost completed 1/720 USS America aircraft carrier by Italeri.
Jerry Brunson brought an impressive two-ship display in 1/700th scale, the USS John C Stennis and an escorting guided missile destroyer.
Jerry spent ten months building the Trumpeter aircraft carrier, and another three months to add the aircraft, deck equipment and personnel (!) to it.
Ethan Idenmill has finished his twin-ship project, the USS Ticonderoga and the USS Harry W. Hill with added Tom's Modelworks railings and photo-etch masts
by Gwylan, both in 1/1250th scale.
Mike Potter has applied the 1944 camo paint scheme to his Tamiya 1/700 USS Missouri.
Robert Curtin brought his work-in-progress LST-325, a 1/700th scale model by Skywave.
Jerry Jackson has been working on a 1/700th scale IJN destroyer Isokaze by Aoshima. Jerry is getting frustrated with the microscopic size of the photo-etch parts.
Jerry is also working on a 1/72nd version of the Dragon E-100 tank that he build in 1/35th scale a few months ago.
Rex McCoy brought his 88mm Flak gun and figures, a 1/35th Dragon kit to which he added some extra parts.
Jerry Brunson also brought a 1/48th scale F/A-18C by Hasegawa, beautifully detailed and weathered.
Richard Abraham brought a pair of Aermacchi aircraft, a MB-326 by ESCI and a MB-339 by Frems, both in 1/48th scale.
Ethan also brought a 1/144th F-86F Sabre, built straight out-of-the-box.
Dany Galgani brought his just-finished 1/32nd scale AV-8B Harrier II
by Trumpeter, with metal landing gear by Scale Aircraft Conversions.
Thank you to all who participated!
