JANUARY 2011 MEETING PHOTOS

The IPMS San Diego met on January 28 at the Veterans Memorial Center & Museum in San Diego. Members brought their work-in-progress models for show 'n tell along with finished pieces that they entered in the first quarterly contest of the year.

Coronado Library's Candice Hooper gives her report on the first month of the Library's Naval Aviation Centennial exhibit.
Captain Richard Dann updates the status of the Navy Centennial's painting theme of selected Navy aircraft.
Mike O'Leary brought a work-in-progress 1/35 Panzer with resin conversion and two new aircraft kits, both in 1/32 manly scale.
Mike's kits: Revell's Arado Ar 196A-3 Seaplane, and Eduard's Bf 109E-1.
David Weeks brought his Curtiss A-1 Triad, assembled but not rigged nor painted yet. David plans to disassemble the plane to paint it and then reassemble it.
Mark Knowlton showed his Tamiya's 1/350 Tone ship model kit, a Japanese Heavy Cruiser loaded with detail.
Craig Burke brought a Japanese Heinkel 111 with U-2 wings which makes it a hypothetical high-altitude research plane.
Eugene Watts brought his work-in-progress 1/700 USS Knox class frigate.
Ethan Idenmill brought a Polar Lights Klingon D7 Battle Cruiser.
Rich Durham brought his Tasca 1/35 scale Sherman Firefly.
Rex McCoy brought his Revell 1/144th scale USS
Fletcher, with pre-war camo scheme and railing
made of music wire.
